The Immortal

There’s a myth about immortals invented by the Greeks centuries ago. It says that immortals are like gods because they have incredible non human abilities. They are invincible, very powerful and extremely strong. If they are so good, what is the problem with them? Well, the problem is that the myth also says that if immortals find each others then they have to kill themselves until only one is left. This only one left absorbs the other one’s powers and becomes an evil and pretentious creature who wants to conquer the world no matter what.
A lot of people now a day affirm that there are still some immortals left in the world but that they are very far away from each other so they can’t find themselves and people can be save. The problem is that no matter what the human race or any other kinds of species do, destiny is always unpredictable and uncontrollable. That’s why danger is always around us and, as it is said, nothing is absolute. In a matter of fact, everything is relative. Everything takes its own way without warning that’s why life keep on giving us lots of surprises. But, is it life the one who gives us so many surprises? Or, is it destiny? That is what we will found out in this maybe real story.

Brunella De Gregori was a gorgeous and very smart young woman. She was engaged of a very hansom guy called Ernest Longerville. They were going to get married in about to weeks. She was thrilled and very excited about the wedding. The night before the wedding, she had a very weird dream. She dreamt with and Italian guy called Jacomo Tirelli. In the dream, voices kept on telling her that he was the real love of her life and that she should risk everything and look for him. Her wedding day arrived. She woke up and ignored the dream but at midday when she was getting dressed she looked herself at the mirror and realized that she really wasn’t in love with Ernest. So she called her best friend Karen, told her everything and together they ran away to Italy.

They reached Italy and rented an apartment. One night, they decided to go to the opera. When the show finished, they were going out the theatre and suddenly Brunella heard that someone said “yes, Mr. Tirelli”. As soon as she heard that, she started running after that mysterious man but one of her high hills broke so she couldn’t reach him. Karen were so upset about Brunella leaving her alone that she went to the apartment, took all her stuff and rented an apartment next to Brunella. While that was happening Brunella was resting at a corner. Suddenly, a gentleman came to her and told her that she was a beautiful woman who was in danger in that street. She laughed and presented herself. The guy presented himself as Jacomo Tirelli. She couldn’t believe it, he was the guy she was looking at. He took her to dinner and later, they went to a bar where she told him the entire story about her dream which was the reason of her visit to Italy. Some hours later, they got drunk, went to Brunella’s apartment and had sex. The next morning, while they were taking breakfast, he told her that he really wasn’t Jacomo Tirelli and that his real name was Jack Nicholson. She got shocked. She couldn’t believe he lied to her just to have her on bed. She got so angry that he took all of Jack’s stuff and threw them and him out if her apartment.

A few days later, she went to the supermarket to buy some stuff for her apartment and when she was paying, she heard that in another cashier a woman pronounced the name Mr. Tirelli. She went to him and said hi. He was confused and said hi in return. She told her the entire story about him and her dream. He laughed and they kept on talking. They got along with each other very well so they started dating. After a few months, they became a couple. And some weeks after that, they decided to live together.

One afternoon, Brunella was going to Jacomo’s office to give him a surprise. When she was about to reach the place, Jacomo went out and saw her coming. She saw him too and very excited started to run. But when she was running she didn’t looked out for the street and a car knocked her down. Jacomo got very worried and desperate ran to her. He called an ambulance but it was in vane because she was already dead. At the hospital, he went into the funeral room and sadly took her cold hand, he gave her a kiss and supremely she woke up. He got shocked and told her that she had being dead. She didn’t believe him and laughed. In that moment, Jacomo realized that Brunella was an immortal just like him so she could no longer exist.

They went home and seemed to be happy. The next day, at the afternoon, Brunella called Karen to apologize and asked her to bring her some documents she needed which were at her office. While she waited she was watching TV and the phone rung. She hanged up. It was Jack. He was calling to tell Brunella that he was madly in love with her and begged her to give him a second chance. After an hour of arguing, she violently hanged out. Suddenly, Jacomo came home. They started talking. Then, they went to the bedroom and when they were making love he took a knife out of under the bed and started trying to kill Brunella. She didn’t know what to do so she just tried to defend herself. Jacomo told her that she was immortal as well as him so that one had to dye and that one was going to be her. They were fighting and yelling when Karen came into the apartment. She listened to the yelling so she took a knife from the kitchen and went to Brunella’s bedroom. She was watching the fight hidden. Then Jacomo was about to kill Brunella so Karen ran to him and tried to kill him but as an immortal, he was too strong so he killed her instead. Brunella was hurt and furious so she jumped into him. They were fighting and then the door bell rang. It was Jack who was looking for Brunella to work things out. Nobody was answering and he hardly heard that something was going on inside so she broke the door and came in. He ran to the bedroom and saw the fight. So he took out his gun and started shooting Jacomo but nothing happened to him. Jacomo got very upset with him; he knocked Brunella and went to Jack. He took Jack from his neck strongly. When Brunella saw this, she noticed that she really was in love with Jack so she took the knife, threw Jack out of the bedroom and cut Jacomo’s head from behind. When that happened, suddenly a huge and splendorous light came out of Jacomo’s body and got into Brunella’s making her extremely powerful and invincible but also selfish and evil. This “abilities” can be very dangerous mixed up with the abilities of women to give the appearance of inoffensive ones and act with an incredible manipulation.

Brunella changed her identity and kept on moving all the time. Jack woke up the next morning of the incident and never found Brunella again. Many horrible, nasty and very weird things happen everyday, the question is; does Brunella have something to do with it? That is something we can’t still know.
